Q: How does CHQ programme allocate Co-Curricular Activities?
Under the preference-based system, all parents (for primary) will indicate preferences for their child/rens Co-curricular Activities based on each time-slot. For grade 6 to grade 12 students make their own selections. The computer algorithm will begin by placing as many children as it can into their first preference activity.
If an activity has more students with a first preference than its capacity, then the computer randomly chooses which students will be placed into the activity.
Then, for each day/time slot, any activity which has spaces available, students, who made it their second choice are randomly placed until capacity is reached.
This process is continued through 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. until all choices are considered for all activities for the student.
For students who are not placed in their 1st activity choice, for the season, these students will earn higher priority for placement for the same activity next season.
